Banjarmasin – The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), held a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) on the Use of Open Source Applications for Creating and Managing Study Program (PS) websites within FKIP ULM on Saturday–Sunday, 6–7 July 2024. The Bimtek took place at Treepark Hotel starting at 08:30 WITA.

The event was opened by the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dharmono, and attended by ICT managers: Chair Nuruddin Wiranda; Secretary Muhammad Sa’aduddien Khair; and staff Ponco Sisworo and Muhammad Naufal Yaasir. The main participants were the web managers of 21 study programs at FKIP ULM along with representatives from faculty-level units.

The speakers included Nuruddin Wiranda, who trained participants on developing PS profile websites using Open Source CMS, and Galih Rizki Khairul Ulum, who presented on using CMS, templates, and plugins for PS website development. On the following day, participants were guided on using applications to create and manage multilingual plugins on their respective PS websites.

According to the ICT unit chair, Nuruddin Wiranda, the Bimtek aims to train PS website operators in developing and standardizing the menu structure across PS websites. This initiative also supports the faculty’s preparation for international accreditation for nine PS programs this year and 12 other PS programs plus one professional education program in the upcoming year.

He expressed hope that, following this training, PS websites at FKIP ULM will have a more uniform and complete structure in accordance with faculty standards. The faculty standards refer to international accreditation website requirements. In addition to structure, it is expected that the PS websites will feature multilingual capabilities, enhancing readiness for international accreditation. This activity also aims to improve the competence of PS operators in website development.

“After the Bimtek, further evaluations will be conducted regarding the menu structures introduced and the readiness of PS programs for international accreditation. Additionally, various activities will be carried out to enhance the competencies of study program operators within FKIP ULM,” he added. (admin)
