Banjarmasin, September 24, 2025 – As part of the series of competitions in the 2025 Student Communication Forum (FORKOM) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), the Indonesian Language Debate competition was successfully held with high enthusiasm from participants and a lively debate atmosphere. The event took place at 11:00 WITA until completion, in a venue prepared by the committee.
The activity began with technical preparations, including the formulation of debate motions and well-structured implementation guidelines. The ICT Team also played an active role in supporting documentation and technical needs to ensure the smooth running of the event.
The debate proceeded with great enthusiasm, as participants showcased their speaking skills, critical thinking, and ability to deliver logical and systematic arguments. Each team was given the opportunity to present their main arguments, rebuttals, and concluding statements.
More than just an exchange of ideas, this competition served as a platform for students to hone their rhetorical abilities, strengthen logical reasoning, and build self-confidence in expressing opinions openly. The panel of judges, consisting of FKIP academics, assessed each performance based on argument substance, debate structure, and delivery strength.
After a thorough evaluation process, three top teams were announced as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. The winners stood out for their mastery of issues, team cohesion, and sharp, convincing delivery of ideas.
This activity reflects FKIP ULM’s strong commitment to fostering students’ intellectual potential and language proficiency—skills that are highly relevant to meeting the challenges of both academic and professional spheres in the future
