Banjarmasin – The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM), has just launched an innovative application called PANTAU (Knowledge Board). Accessible via television monitors installed in the lobby of the FKIP ULM Utility Building, this application offers a practical solution for obtaining important information directly. With the launch of PANTAU, ICT FKIP ULM demonstrates its commitment to leveraging technology to enhance the quality of information services for students and staff. This innovation also reflects the faculty’s dedication to using modern technology to support more transparent and efficient academic and non-academic activities.

PANTAU comes with three main features that simplify access to information. First, a leadership attendance feature allows the academic community to quickly check the presence of faculty leaders. Second, an event information feature provides updates on faculty activities, seminars, and other ongoing events. Third, a room usage status feature offers details on room bookings, including who booked, for what activity, and on which date. These features ensure that users not only obtain the information they need but can also plan their activities more effectively.

According to the Head of ICT, Nuruddin Wiranda, this application represents a strategic step to strengthen the information system within the faculty. By leveraging existing information technology, PANTAU is expected to enhance communication and coordination among faculty members. This aligns with FKIP ULM’s vision of becoming a modern faculty that is responsive to the needs of both students and staff. The implementation of this application is anticipated not only to facilitate access to information but also to foster a more collaborative and innovative work culture among the entire academic community.

Innovations like PANTAU serve as a concrete example of how technology can be integrated into educational service systems. In this way, FKIP ULM not only keeps pace with technological developments but also actively contributes to creating a better academic environment. PANTAU marks a significant first step in providing more integrated and responsive information services, which in turn can enhance teaching and learning experiences within the faculty. It is expected that this application will continue to evolve and adapt to the needs of the academic community, becoming an increasingly valuable tool in the future.
