Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) organized a Public Relations Training for department administrators and student associations (Hima) under the theme “Optimizing the Role and Function of Departmental Information Publication to External Audiences.” The event took place in the FKIP ULM Meeting Room and was officially opened by Dean of FKIP, Sunarno Basuki.

The training involved members of the Public Relations and Partnership Management Unit (UPKH), the Head of the ICT Unit, department secretaries, department operators, and Hima publication officers. The event was divided into two main sessions:

  1. Training on Writing Department Activity News – delivered by Dewi Alfianti, Secretary of the Public Relations Division.
  2. Synchronization of Department and Faculty Information – presented by Nuruddin Wiranda, Head of the ICT Unit.

Participants were introduced to the straight news writing model based on the 5W+1H principle, as well as the use of Pantau, a shared digital platform for storing and sharing publication materials between departments and the faculty.

From the perspective of the FKIP ULM ICT Team, this activity is essential in building synergy for digital information management so that each department can deliver news in a consistent, integrated, and publicly accessible manner.

One participant, Umar, stated that the training broadened his understanding of the role of public relations in shaping a positive institutional image. He expressed hope that similar programs would continue regularly, addressing topics that keep pace with technological advancements.

Through the collaboration between UPKH and the ICT Team, FKIP ULM is committed to strengthening its institutional image through professional, well-directed, and technology-based publications.
